Grand Canyon North Rim - part I

We were late in the season and all the accommodation was closed down but fortunately there had not been enough snow to close the road in to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (the South Rim stays open year-round and is about 1,000 feet lower in altitude). The North Rim presents a different landscape and vegetation to the South Rim and of course a totally different angle on the Canyon itself.

The smoke haze was from some preventative burning off, but it created a nice effect
