Rice Canyon and Wills Canyon - March 2014

The local Ventura River Preserve maintained by the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy offers some great local hikes - across the dry river are a number of canyon walks including Wills Canyon and Rice Canyon.

 The river further upstream was still flowing above ground for weeks after the rain.

On the upper trail through Rice Canyon - you are walking through a local Chaparral landscape.

You then head down into Oak Savannah on the Wills Canyon trail.

Crossing back over the river.
