Cozy Dell Oct & Nov 2013

Cozy Dell is a short sharp climb up above the West end of Ojai, giving views south down the Ventura River Valley, East across Ojai and North West up Matilija Canyon. Black & White seemed in order.

 

The second time I went up Cozy Dell Trail, the buddy (Winston) came along. He was really really happy, but really really tired. Lucky there was a park bench at the top!

 

He enjoyed the view too.

Also, we go high enough to see the accursed Matilija Dam

OK so there's been a two year gap in posting pictures, I'll start at the most recent and try to fill in some gaps: An awesome little trip to Sequoia National Park.... I'll be back.

And may I begin with.... BEAR!!! My first wild bear sighting, and this little buddy was munching berries on the side of the road. No cuddles :(

And then onto the trees.... amazing Giant Sequoias (Sequoiadendron giganteum) - a unique genus and one of only three trees in the species known as Redwood (...and yes I'm pretty good at Wikipedia).
