So in October 2014, I finally made it to the great Yosemite National Park. With my parents in tow (celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary - not a poor effort really), we set out early one fine fall morning, hitting the road in the trusty VW* and making our way up over the Sespe Wilderness, across the Central Valley and to the south entrance of Yosemite.
*BTW this is sarcasm as the stupid VW is fall-aparty and expensive to repair....booo.
Mariposa Grove
At the south of the park, the big attraction is the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. The same redwoods as found in Sequoia National Park and only in the region pretty much between this Grove in Yosemite and the south of Sequoia NP. Regardless of where you see them, these are might impressive trees.
